4 Times I Should Have Been Fired for Bad Code

Presented by: JPMorgan Chase & Co. (Sponsor)
Time: Friday, Jan. 10, 1:30 PM - 2:15 PM

(Presented by Ben Thorp)
Ever set a helicopter on fire? Wasted months of company time developing a product that no one wanted? Designed a system so complex and hard to use that none of your peers (or boss unfortunately) could maintain it? We’ve all made mistakes and have hopefully learned from them. In this talk I share some horror stories of failed projects from my past. More importantly, I’ll talk through practices that I adopted that has (so far) helped avoid similar disaster. HINT: it turns out that professionalism and craftsmanship really matter!
