Yes, create-react-app is great and will immediately get you so many things. But, once the shininess fades away, your app grows you will soon find yourself pulling along a load of stuff you never intended and begin to feel the bloat.
You search how to get out of, or eject from create-react-app and all signs point, "don't even think about it", and there you are stuck.
create-react-app is not React. In fact you can have an amazing React app without ever touching it. You can use server side rendering frameworks even to go a different route.
